Seniors
A warm welcome awaits regulars and new members wishing to join us on Wednesday mornings for a 9am start (with the draw being made at 08:50), providing you are 55 years young or older!
We meet throughout the year and we play in almost any weather conditions. The great thing about Tynedale GC is that the course drains very quickly after rain, snow and flood, so you can almost be guaranteed a game.
We regularly have about 18 to 24 members playing, the normal format being groups of three balls, in a shotgun start. We expect to be back in the clubhouse anytime from about 12.00 noon for a coffee, beer, bacon sandwich, or whatever else takes your fancy, while awaiting the day’s result.
A small charge of £1.50 is paid each week, out of which, 50p goes towards the cost of a Summer Away-Day’s golf, including a two-course meal, at a nearby course and 50p goes towards the cost of our Christmas Lunch and annual prize-giving in the clubhouse at Tynedale GC. The remaining 50p is paid to the Wednesday morning winner, adding a competitive edge to proceedings.
We operate a League Table each year with the winner being awarded the Senior’s Shield. Winning scores each week are adjusted and averaged out, to take into account the course conditions. You will find a running spreadsheet of everyone’s actual scores and their Seniors handicap, located in the Seniors section of this Website.
